• ACHILLES™ Kevlar® skate socks & wrist guards- "Our socks arrived last week. My son is an Atom goalie and I am 44 and play goal also. My son loves them and is wearing them for every game and practice. The first time he wore them his calf was stepped on in practice. He had a bit of a bruise from the pressure of the blade but nothing cut at all. He was very happy he had them since accidents happen in the crease. I have found the socks to be very effective at keeping my feet dry and the knowledge my leg won't get sliced open if someone tumbles into the crease is reassuring. I ordered the cut-resistant wrist guards also and they seem to help with the heavy sweating goalies endure while playing. The extra protection on the glove hand wrist is nice since it is the vulnerable hand when covering loose pucks as players tend to get a little over zealous trying to swat and kick pucks loose. I wear only a pair of long soccer type socks over the underwear and they are cool and comfortable all the time. As a goalie I don't find this underwear hot or even warm at all. As a matter of fact I find the opposite. They wick away moisture nicely, even under the pads I don't notice any discomfort or feeling of undo heat at all.
